Milan Nedeljković, chief production officer at BMW, has put forward a proposal that could significantly impact the future of electric vehicles.

His idea is to provide electric vehicles with their own lane on highways, giving them an advantage over vehicles with internal combustion engines. This proposal aims to increase the attractiveness of electric cars and encourage drivers to consider switching to more environmentally friendly options.
In addition, Nedeljković suggests additional privileges for electric vehicle drivers, such as free parking and special privileges for entering the city center. According to him, these measures could serve as an alternative to the planned ban on vehicles with internal combustion engines that the European Union is considering implementing.
BMW, as one of the world’s leading car manufacturers, continues to make significant investments in its German production plants, despite increasing competition and challenges posed by high production costs. Nedeljković highlighted that BMW has invested five billion euros in its factories in Germany over the past five years, ensuring the production of over a million cars annually.
However, Nedeljković pointed out the need for stronger infrastructure in Germany, including better roads, reliable railways, and advanced digital infrastructure. He expressed concern about the departure of industrial companies from the country, especially in the middle sector and among suppliers, emphasizing the need to introduce new technologies to maintain competitiveness.
This BMW initiative could change the way electric vehicles are perceived, as the company faces challenges in its home base and global markets, Telegraf reports from Autoblog.rs.
