Zoran Pašalić, the Protector of Citizens, has strongly condemned the threats and insults directed at the owners of the Belgrade pastry shop „Pelivan“ and called on the authorities to urgently react and punish the perpetrator of the violence.

In a statement, Pašalić announced that he will visit the family who owns the oldest pastry shop in the Balkans in order to show support.

The Protector of Citizens assessed that in this case, it is not just a gross violation of human rights and endangerment of representatives of national minorities, but that such an act is an attack on fundamental values, culture, and society’s identity.
