Igor Simić, a member of the Presidency of the Serbian List, stated today that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija has never been worse, that it deteriorates every day, and that Serbs in the province live in a situation similar to apartheid.

„The fact is that, if there is no security for the Serbs, there will be no Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija… our people are leaving, economically well-off individuals are leaving, because they do not know what awaits them tomorrow,“ Simić emphasized in an interview on RTS.

He stated that „the state must take a clear and firm stance“, that it is necessary to enhance security and provide economic and financial assistance to the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

„We are faced with a situation where there are no products from central Serbia, and the prices that the population in northern Kosovo and Metohija pay for lower quality products from the region are almost double,“ said Simić.

He said that Serbs have no trust in EULEX because they have never done anything to protect Serbs. Simić pointed out that in Kosovo and Metohija, „it gets worse day by day“, and that these are the consequences of the systematic plan of the temporary authorities in Pristina for ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

„The situation has never been worse, I was born in Kosovo and Metohija, I have been in politics for 12 years and I responsibly claim that Serbs are living in a situation similar to apartheid,“ Simić emphasized.

He pointed out that in Kosovo and Metohija, there are no „isolated incidents“, but Pristina is implementing a „systematic plan and institutional violence, which ultimately results in ethnic cleansing.“

„It is time for the international community’s anemic statements to end,“ Simić said, noting that KFOR has 8,000 members in the province and EULEX has a few hundred, and that there is a way to react to the violence of the temporary institutions in Pristina.
