Goran Vesić, member of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), stated today that Serbia needs to continue building and developing, not halting projects, which is why the upcoming local elections are important.

He emphasized that only voting for the „Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia of Tomorrow“ list enables the continuation of projects.

Appearing on TV Prva, he mentioned significant infrastructure projects in Belgrade, such as the construction of the metro, continuation of work on the Belgrade bypass, EXPO, the National Stadium, and a new bridge over the Sava River, all funded by the Serbian government’s budget.

„These are all projects that need to be implemented in the coming years to make the lives of Belgrade citizens much better and more comfortable,“ Vesić said.

Regarding Niš, he mentioned the construction of a high-speed railroad between Belgrade and Niš, scheduled to begin by the end of this year, reducing travel time between the two cities to 100 minutes.

Vesić announced the opening of a terminal at Niš Airport „Konstantin Veliki“ on July 1, equipped with new technology, and the commencement of construction on a railway bypass around Niš in early June, a long-awaited project to remove the railway from the city center.

„All these projects are financed by the Serbian government, but local municipalities’ assistance is required. Citizens need to understand that only by voting for the ‘Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia of Tomorrow’ list are they voting for the continuation of these projects, otherwise, some of these projects will be jeopardized,“ Vesić explained.

He pointed out that critics of their list have not offered any alternatives to these projects.

Vesić addressed the issue of the Srebrenica Resolution affecting infrastructure projects, stating that the resolution has not brought any benefits to the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He criticized the former communist politicians, Zlatko Lagumdžija and Denis Bećirović, for using the resolution for their own political gains, creating tensions among the three ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vesić stated that the recent tensions and lack of respect for the victims of the Srebrenica massacre in Bosnia highlight the damage caused by Lagumdžija and Bećirović’s actions.

He emphasized the importance of preserving peace in Serbia, continuing to build the country, and maintaining connections with Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of their essential trading partners.

Vesić expressed hope that political opportunists like Lagumdžija and Bećirović, in the future, will not jeopardize the coexistence of people in Bosnia and Herzegovina for personal gain.
