Đorđe Stanković, the candidate of the election list „Biramo Niš“, claims that the acting president of the Higher Court in Niš, Tomislav Trajković, who is also the president of the Council that decides on their appeals after the election process, directly influences the City Election Commission.

„He is asking for the adoption of records that did not exist at the time of the written decisions and thus creates procedural conditions for our appeals to be rejected. This is a direct violation of procedures. The essence is that without these records, the appeals should have been accepted and re-voting should be done at those polling stations,“ said Stanković.

He adds that there are obviously political pressures to end this process as soon as possible, and to force the opposition to seek justice in another way.

Stanković also reminds that Trajković has been in the acting status for eight months and expects his election in the next ten days.

„With this procedural violation, he obviously proves his political suitability,“ said Stanković.

Miloš Nešić, a candidate on the list „Biramo Niš“, said that opposition representatives gathered in front of the Court to submit a notice that those records did not exist when their appeals were submitted.

It is important to note that after the decision of the City Election Commission on the preliminary election results, the opposition filed more than 30 objections to the election process, but the majority were not accepted. They are now awaiting the response of the Higher Court in Niš to their appeals.
