Dejan Carević, director of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, stated today that the Ministry of Justice and the Administration remain consistent in improving material and all other conditions in order to ensure humane and dignified execution of prison sentences for women.

At a ceremony marking the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Correctional Institution for Women in Požarevac, Carević emphasized that worldwide penological practice recognizes women as a particularly vulnerable and sensitive population, the Ministry of Justice announced.

„For years, we have been dedicated to improving the conditions in which female inmates serve their prison sentences,“ Carević said.
